Breaking: OPM Begins Free Feeding For All Boarding Students From October 12

The Omega Power Ministries (OPM) has announced the commencement of a free feeding programme for students in all its free secondary schools, with the initiative scheduled to begin on Monday, October 12, 2026.

The announcement was made by the General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, who said the decision followed what he described as a recent breakthrough God had brought to the ministry.

According to the announcement, the new initiative will ensure that all students residing in OPM's free secondary school boarding facilities receive meals without paying for their feeding.

Before the latest development, OPM provided free boarding facilities, textbooks, school sandals and accommodation for students in its secondary schools, while parents remained responsible for their children's feeding expenses.

However, the introduction of free feeding means that parents whose children attend the ministry's free secondary schools will no longer have to bear the cost of feeding their children in the boarding houses, according to the announcement.

OPM To Fund Programme Through Tithes And Offerings

Apostle Chibuzor disclosed that the feeding programme would be fully funded through tithes and offerings received by the church.

The initiative adds another component to the ministry's existing educational support programme, which provides essential school materials and accommodation for students.

The announcement has drawn appreciative reactions from supporters, who described the development as a source of relief for parents struggling with the financial demands of raising and educating their children.

One supporter expressed gratitude to the cleric for extending his assistance to the students, describing the free feeding initiative as a significant intervention that could ease the burden on families.

Another supporter prayed for God's continued protection and blessings upon the cleric and his family, while expressing admiration for his commitment to providing educational support for children.

Parents Expected To Benefit From New Initiative

The commencement of free feeding is expected to provide additional financial relief to parents and guardians whose children are enrolled in OPM's boarding secondary schools.

With the cost of food, educational materials and other household necessities placing pressure on many families, the announcement has drawn attention to the role of faith-based organisations in supporting access to education and reducing the financial burden on parents.

The initiative also raises broader questions about how similar programmes could be adopted by other religious organisations, philanthropists and state governments to support students from low-income households.

A supporter who reacted to the announcement expressed the hope that similar gestures would be extended to students in Delta State, describing the initiative as a major relief for parents.

Free Feeding To Commence Monday

According to the announcement dated October 11, 2026, the free feeding programme will begin on Monday, October 12, with all students in OPM's free secondary school boarding facilities expected to benefit.

The ministry has presented the initiative as an extension of its existing commitment to providing free educational support, with funding to come from church tithes and offerings.

The development marks a new phase in OPM's support for boarding students, as the ministry moves beyond providing accommodation, textbooks and school sandals to including feeding in its package of free educational assistance.

The announcement was signed by Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, who concluded his message with the declaration: "OPM to the world. Doctor Jesus in action."
